The hanging body of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al Amin of Jajira Police Station in Shariatpur was found in his office on Thursday (January 9) afternoon.

The body was recovered from his room at the police station, confirmed Dr. Monirul Islam of Shariatpur Police Lines Hospital.

He said that a towel was found wrapped around the OC’s neck, and initial indications suggest suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.

News of the recovery attracted a crowd outside the police station, but no one is being allowed inside. Senior police officials are present at the scene.
