Interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam on Thursday (Jan 9) said that discussions on the July Declaration with political parties will begin next week.
He made the statement during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
Mahfuz Alam expressed optimism that the government would engage all stakeholders involved in the uprising to finalize and announce the declaration through mutual consensus.
He said that talks with political parties regarding the matter would take place soon.
Addressing the January 15 deadline set by the anti-discrimination student movement for the declaration, he mentioned that the timeline might be extended slightly to ensure comprehensive discussions.
The adviser emphasized that the declaration would reflect the collective agreement of all political parties, cultural groups, and social organizations, aiming for the best outcome for Bangladesh.
