FENI: Police detained 18 people for their suspected involvement in the killing of Fulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Huq, also Upazila Awami League president.
In 8-hour long drives from 1am Wednesday, law enforcers held the murder-suspects from different places of the district town.
Besides, they also recovered two motorbikes and a private car on suspicion of using in the killing mission.
Confirming the matter, Sadar thana officer-in-charge Mahabub Morshed told banglanews that the detainees are being interrogated in thana custody. He also hoped that the identity of the main accused in the killing will be known soon.
Earlier on Tuesday, in a filmy style, miscreants shot Ekramul and burnt alive in his own car in broad daylight in Academy area of the district town.
