Mild cold wave sweeping over parts of country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted a mild cold wave sweeping across Dinajpur and Panchagarh districts, with the potential to spread to other areas in the coming days.

The BMD also warned of moderate to thick fog across the country, particularly during midnight to morning hours, which may continue into the noon at some places. This dense fog could cause temporary disruptions in air navigation, island river transport, and road communications.

The weather is expected to remain dry with a partly cloudy sky, as night temperatures drop by 1-2°C. Day temperatures, however, are predicted to stay relatively unchanged.

The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining areas, while the seasonal low lies over the South Bay with a trough extending to North Bay.

Yesterday, Dinajpur recorded the lowest temperature of 9.2°C, while Teknaf experienced the highest temperature of 31.2°C. In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:40 pm today and rise at 6:42 am tomorrow.
