Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) authorities have issued special directives following the detection of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases in Bangladesh.
HSIA Executive Director Kamrul Islam instructed all airlines, airports, and related entities to adhere to the guidelines on Monday.
The directives said passengers, airport staff, and visitors to wear masks and use hand sanitizers. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or breathing difficulties has been advised to report immediately to the airport's health service.
In line with instructions from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), all airport personnel have been asked to implement precautionary measures against HMPV.
The notice also highlighted that there is no immediate cause for panic regarding the virus.
