BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of national unity to rebuild Bangladesh with the people, regardless of their political affiliations, and in spite of ongoing conspiracies and divisions.
BNP leader made the remark during a virtual address ahead of the final match of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament on Thursday (Nov 28).
“Conspiracies are still happening, but we have no choice but to stay united. We will build a new Bangladesh by involving the people, regardless of political parties, and focusing on their talents,” said Tarique Rahman.
He mentioned that the people had already removed an autocratic government, and now it is time to lead Bangladesh towards progress. He spoke at an event organized by the Lalmonirhat district unit of BNP, which took place at Barobari Shaheed Abul Kashem College ground in Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.
“We now need the cooperation of everyone to build the country in the future. Our aim is to create a prosperous and beautiful Bangladesh with the support of people from all sectors,” he added.
Tarique also highlighted the country's talented doctors, engineers, and professionals. He stated that if BNP comes to power, they will also focus on developing young athletes and cultural figures.
He promised to take steps to help athletes improve their skills and represent Bangladesh at global sports events with pride.
The event was chaired by Asadul Habib Dulu, the organizing secretary of Rangpur division, and attended by BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, and Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, assistant vice president of Bangladesh Football Federation. Several BNP leaders and activists, along with members of its front and associate bodies, were present at the event.
