Mild cold wave sweeps parts of Bangladesh, met office predicts 

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (Jan 27) forecasted that a mild cold wave is currently affecting the northern and northeastern regions and is expected to persist for the next 24 hours.

According to the forecast, which took effect from 9 AM today, the districts of Sirajganj, Dinajpur, and Moulvibazar are experiencing a mild cold wave, which may continue.

The ridge of the subcontinental high extends into West Bengal and adjoining western parts of Bangladesh, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay.

Weather conditions across the country are expected to remain dry, with a temporarily partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate fog may form late at night and persist until morning.

Night and day temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.

On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 29.7°C in Teknaf, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 9.5°C in Dinajpur today.

In the capital, the sun will set today at 5:41 pm and rise tomorrow at 6:41 am.
