Juba League leader shot dead

LAXMIPUR: A leader of Juba League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, was shot to death by unidentified assailants at North Durgapur village under Sadar upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain, president of 6 no. ward unit Juba League of Dighuli union, also son of Sakayet Ullah.

Awami Legue-backed chairman aspirant Salauddin Tipu confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Tipu, also son of municipal mayor Abu Taher, claimed that BNP leaders killed Kabir Hossain while he was going to poling station with posters in support of mine.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Daser Hat police outpost Sub-Inspector Mozammel Hossain said on infroamtion, police rushed in and sent the body to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
