Election Commissioner Abdur Rahman has said that reaching a consensus among political parties is crucial for implementing reforms and ensuring credible elections.
He said that restoring people's voting rights and holding fair elections are commitments the Election Commission holds.
Speaking to journalists at his office in Agargaon on Thursday (January 16), he said that if political parties reach an agreement, the Election Commission will analyze the reform proposals and work towards necessary constitutional amendments.
Election Commissioner stressed that there is no room for traditional methods, as the commission is committed to providing transparent and impartial elections.
On Wednesday, the Election System Reform Commission submitted several proposals to address existing irregularities.
