Three motorcyclists lost their lives in a road accident in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram on Friday (Jan 17). 

The incident occurred around 3:00 am near Sufia Rastar Matha area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Barua (40), Sani Barua (40), and Nipu Barua (38), all residents of Damdama Barua Para in Mayani Union.

Biplob Barua, elder brother of Rubel, said the three friends were returning home after attending a wedding when their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified bus on the Chattogram-bound lane near Sufia Rastar Matha.

Sub-Inspector Borhan Uddin of Jorarganj Highway Police Station said all three died on the spot due to the collision. The bodies were handed over to their families, and the motorcycle has been kept in police custody.
