DHAKA: Her new beau, singer-songwriter John Mayer, is a ‘genius’ and her new album, Prism, contains songs which are deeply personal.

Pop star Katy Perry, reports The Straits Times.

She was is in Tokyo this week for press events to drum up buzz for Prism, which was released last month and is the current No. 1 album on the Billboard charts.

Instead of holding one huge press conference for journalists from around the region, the 29-year-old did the more tiring thing, giving one-on-one interviews to each publication, including Life!

But it was not all work and no play, she tweeted a picture of herself wearing a kimono and took time out to meet the members of boyband One Direction, who were also in Tokyo for two concerts.

Both acts also made appearances on popular Japanese television show Music Station.
