Ismail Hossain Jamaddar (42), the 'first husband' of popular actress Pori Moni, was killed in a road accident.

The incident occurred in the Pachchar area of Shibchar on the Dhaka-Bhanga Highway early Friday (November 22).

According to locals and police, Ismail was traveling to Dhaka on a motorcycle with his friend Monir when a truck hit their vehicle from behind, leaving Ismail critically injured. 

Local people rushed both of them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors pronounced Ismail dead on arrival. 

Monir was later transferred to Agargaon Pangu Hospital, where one of his legs had to be amputated. He remains under treatment at the facility.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shakil Ahmed of the Shibchar Highway Police Station confirmed the matter.

According to him, "Ismail Hossain Jamaddar died in the accident in the Pachchar area. The incident is still under investigation."

Ismail Jamaddar was the son of Zakir Hossain Jamaddar, a bank officer from Chhota Shaula village in the Mirukhali Union of Mathbaria Upazila. 

His body was sent to his ancestral home, where a funeral prayer was held that evening. He was buried in the family graveyard.

Ismail’s uncle, Kabir Hossain Jamaddar, said that Ismail had divorced Pori Moni and later remarried. 

He is survived by his wife and two children from his second marriage.
