The government will restart the midday meal program in April, benefiting 31.30 lakh students in 20,000 poverty-prone primary schools.
The three-year project, costing Tk 5,452 crore, aims to improve nutrition and reduce dropouts. Students will receive milk, eggs, bread, and seasonal fruits five days a week.
Local committees, supervised by Upazila Nirbahi Officers, will oversee implementation, while 6,099 teachers will receive training.
Rohingya children in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char will also be included.
