Bangladesh receives $1.21 billion remittance in January

Bangladesh received $1.21 billion (Tk 14,844cr) in remittances during the first 18 days of January 2025.

Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (January 19) revealed this report. 

According to the report, an average of $67.05 million in remittance was sent daily during the period.

State-owned commercial banks facilitated $258.87 million, while specialized agricultural banks handled $50.98 million. Private commercial banks brought in the highest amount, totaling $893.31 million. Meanwhile, foreign banks operating in Bangladesh processed $3.72 million.

However, no remittance was recorded through Bangladesh Development Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Community Bank, ICB Islamic Bank, Padma Bank, Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, State Bank of India, or Woori Bank during this period.
