The last automatic spot for Women's World Cup qualification will be decided by the third ODI between Bangladesh and the West Indies, the last fixture of the 2022-2025 International Women's Championship cycle.
Bangladesh have fate in their own hands knowing that a victory will be enough to overtake New Zealand for the last automatic spot, with New Zealand hoping for a favour from the West Indies, who are gunning for series victory.
The top five of the Championship plus World Cup hosts India gain direct qualification for the World Cup later this year, with the bottom four teams forced to go through the upcoming Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Ireland, Pakistan and the West Indies join Scotland and Thailand as five of the six confirmed teams for the Qualifier, and will be joined by either Bangladesh or New Zealand after the final match of the cycle.
Bangladesh set up the scenario thanks to a 60-run win in match two of the series in St. Kitts, their first win against the West Indies in any format.
Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty was the key player for Bangladesh, making 68 in her team's 184. Nahida Akter claimed two of the West Indies top three in the bowling effort, with Marufa Akter, Rabeya and Fahima Khatun chipping in with two wickets each to secure victory.
The final ODI will also be head at Werner Park in Basseterre, with a no-result also enough for Bangladesh to overtake the White Ferns for Cricket World Cup qualification.
