Police arrested two local leaders of Swechchhasebak League and Jubo League in Boalkhali of Chattogram on Wednesday (January 8). 

Saidul Islam Munna, a member of the Popadia Union Parishad and general secretary of the Union Swechchhasebak League, and Mohammad Mizan, the finance secretary of Sarwatali Union Jubo League were arrested during a late-night raid based on a tip-off.

The arrestees were sent to court this morning.

Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Sarwar confirmed the matter.

He said the arrestees were suspect in connection with a case filed on October 9. 

The suspects have been presented before the court for further legal proceedings, the official added.
