Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has paid deep tribute to all martyred intellectuals and valiant freedom fighters, remembering their sacrifices with utmost respect.
He prayed for their eternal peace in a statement on Friday (Dec 13).
At this time Jamaat Ameer urged the nation to observe December 14 as Martyred Intellectuals Day and December 16 as Victory Day with due dignity.
Shafiqur Rahman also extended prayers for the martyrs of the July-August mass uprisings and expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
The Jamaat chief also warned against alleged conspiracies by local and foreign allies of the fallen regime to destabilize the country, calling on everyone to stand united against such efforts.
He urged Jamaat branches and citizens to mark Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day with discussions, rallies, and prayers, pledging to protect the nation’s independence and sovereignty while ensuring citizens' rights.
He ended the statement extending heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people on the occasion of Victory Day.
