BAGERHAT: A Bagerhat court on Thursday awarded death penalty to two forest robbers in a killing case of two fishermen sibling.  

District and Sessions Judge SM Solaiman passed the verdict in absence of the convicts.

The convicts are Julfikar Ali alias Julfu, son of Habib Matubbor and Oli alias Raju, son of Jalal Mollah of Mongla upazila.   

The case statement reads: “Two brothers--Anwar Hawlader and Harun Hawlader--went missing in a river near Sundarbans October 17, 2004 and later their body found on October 22.”   

A murder case was filed in this connection with Molga Thana and investigation officer Abul Hossain included the convicts name in the charge sheet.
