A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of multiple properties belonging to Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, the former chairman of Padma Bank PLC’s board of directors, his wife Anjuman Ara Shahid, and their son Chowdhury Rahib Sarafat.
The order was issued by Metropolitan Sessions Judge Zakir Hossain Galib after accepting a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The properties to be attached include residential buildings, plots, and flats in high-value areas such as Gulshan, Dhaka Cantonment, Basundhara Residential Area, and Gazipur.
These assets are believed to be owned by the Sarafat family, who are under investigation for alleged financial misconduct.
The ACC, led by Deputy Director Masudur Rahman, submitted the plea, supported by public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir.
Among the properties listed for attachment are a 20-story building in Gulshan, plots in various locations, and several flats in Banani and Baridhara.
