Bangladesh has not deployed drones at border

Amid escalating tensions in Bangladesh-India relations, a report by India Today TV claimed that Bangladesh had deployed Bayraktar TB2 drones near the West Bengal border. However, the Bangladeshi government has firmly denied these allegations.

“Bangladesh did not deploy drones. India Today’s news is untrue and fabricated,” stated a post on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser on Saturday.

The India Today report, published on Friday, said that India had heightened surveillance along its border with Bangladesh in response to reports of Turkey-made drones being stationed near West Bengal.

The report tied the alleged development to intelligence inputs warning of increased terrorist activity following the fall of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League government.

In a strong rebuttal, the Chief Adviser’s press wing clarified that Bangladesh uses drones only for routine operations and called the report part of an orchestrated campaign against the country.

“The news is baseless and a deliberate attempt to tarnish Bangladesh's image,” the statement concluded.
