The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Monday (July 15), arrested 28 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 126 pieces of Yaba tablets, 6gm heroin, 200 bottles phensedyl and 81.360kg hemp from their possessions, it added. 

According to the statement, 16 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
