A successful media launching of ‘Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Award’ (ARTA) has recently taken place at London Docklands Royal Victoria Dock last week in UK.

Restaurateurs from around Britain, leaders of food industries, journalists, media personalities and distinguished people were present at the ceremony, said a press release on Monday (Oct 23).

ARTA founder and Chef Online CEO MA Munim Salik, in his welcome speech, said ARTA would make a difference among the Asian restaurant industries.

ARTA charity partner ‘Oxfam’ fundraising director Tim Hunter, Canary Wharf Managing Director Howard Dover and British cricketer Devon Malcom were, among others, present at the ceremony.

They all expressed their hope that ARTA would be an exceptional addition to the food industries’ award, the press release added.

Primary nomination will be made by the experts as well as restaurant customers will also vote to nominate 15 regional champions. After a long process of competition, top 10 restaurants will be selected for the Grand Finale at the Arora Ballroom at Intercontinental London--the two to find the champion of the champions on September 30, 2018. A £40,000 worth trophy will be given to the champion.

ARTA steering committee member ARTA founder Munim Salik, team leader Canary Wharf associate director Zakir Khan, Team member Razak Amin Shahed and Team member Kadrul Islam explained about the mega events’ issues at the function.

Among the special guests Bangladesh Caterers Association President Kamal Yakub, former President Pasha Khandakar, former chamber President Mukim Ahmed, London-Bangla Press Club President Syed Nahas Pasha, ATN Bangla CEO Hafiz Alam Bocks, British-Bangladesh Caterers Association President Yafor Ali, Secretary Shahnur Khan, top restaurateur and ARTA ambassador Mithu Chowdhury were also present at the program.

They all expressed hope that ARTA would play an important role to minimize the ongoing crisis in the curry industries and committed to extent support for the success of the mega event.
