Dhaka University (DU) authorities have imposed new restrictions on vehicular movement inside the campus.
All types of vehicles will be prohibited from entering the campus through all major entrances, including Shahbag, Doyel Chattar, Burn Unit, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road, Palashi, and Nilkhet, during specific times.
A notice was issued by the university’s Proctor’s Office today (Dec 14) in this regard.
According to the notice, the ban will be in effect from 3 PM to 10 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and other government holidays. Besides, on regular working days, external vehicular movement will be restricted from 5 PM to 10 PM.
The restriction will apply to all vehicles, with the exception of those displaying DU stickers, emergency vehicles such as ambulances, as well as media and government vehicles.
The university has installed car barriers and security surveillance boxes at seven key entry points to better manage the flow of vehicles and ensure the safety of students and faculty. The move is part of DU's ongoing efforts to create a safer and more controlled environment on campus.
