The Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS) has announced a decrease in gold prices, with the new rates set to take effect from Sunday (Dec 15).
As per the announcement on Saturday (Dec 14), the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,773 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new rate to Tk 138,498 per bhori.
In addition to 22-carat gold, other gold varieties have also seen price adjustments. The cost of 21-carat gold will now be Tk 132,200 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will be priced at Tk 113,316 per bhori. Traditional gold will be sold at Tk 93,020 per bhori.
This revision follows the recent downward trend in pure gold prices within the domestic market, bringing relief to gold consumers and jewellers alike.
The price changes come as part of BAJUS's regular price adjustments based on fluctuations in the international gold market and local supply conditions.
